Lakme Fantasy Shimmer Liner ‘Astral Green’ Review, Swatches and EOTD

Liquid eye liner has never been my cup of tea. I always ended up messing it all over my lids so I prefer using pencil liners over liquid ones. Lakme is one of my trusted makeup brands and this liner didn't disappoint me at all. Today I am going to share my love experience with Lakme Fantasy Shimmer Liner in ‘Astral Green’.

Lakme Fantasy Shimmer Liner comes in a sturdy clear plastic bottle with a long tapered golden handle. The packaging is unique and attractive. The lid easily unscrews to reveal a fine brush. The wand of the liner is extremely comfortable and allows maintaining a firm grip during application. It is neither too thick nor too thin unlike some liners. The packaging of the liner is quite light and can be easily carried around in a makeup or hand bag.

The texture of the liner is smooth that enables easy application. The eye liner has gel like consistency so there is no blobbing or running. It is really easy to dip the brush into the tube and a small amount of liner adheres itself to the brush. So there is no need to wipe off any excess on the top of the bottle. As I had already mentioned that I always ended up messing liquid liners all over my lids, it doesn't happen with this liner. Due to its gel like consistency it does not take a makeup artist to use it. I think it would be easy for beginners like me.  The liner glides easily and smoothly along my lash line. It gives a neat, subtle line of color with a single swipe but can also be layered to create a dramatic, sexy look. The results with the liner are gorgeous and precise with no signs of smudging or feathering. It gives one strong line of color and you don’t have to spend a lot of time going over the line you have just drawn. Well I give whole credit to the fine and good quality bristles of the brush. The liner is not quick drying so you have to wait few seconds to let it dry completely. It is really easy to control the wand and it is easy to create winged out, curved, flicked or straight lines with this liner. It feels quite light on my eyes.

The staying power is pretty average. It stays put on my lids for a good 4-5 hours after which it starts flaking. You must ensure that you don’t rub or touch your lids else you would end flaking it up (I rarely do that!). I have not suffered any adverse reactions when using this liner. The finish of this liner is shimmery and sparkly. The liner is not waterproof and comes off easily on washing with water.

‘Astral Green’ is a beautiful dark jewel green color with golden and green shimmers. It is bold and prominent without being overpowering. It is definitely noticeable and gorgeous. The shimmers are very fine and subtle. The color payoff is fantastic and gives true color in a single swipe. The shade is beautiful and would flatter on all skin tones.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

Lakme Fantasy shimmer liner is a gel based liner which glides easily on my lids. The brush is very thin and can be used to create different looks. It gives a neat, subtle line of color with a single swipe but can also be layered to dramatic, sexy look. It gives opaque color in a single swipe. The staying power is pretty decent. It stays put for a good 4-5 hours on eyes after that it starts flaking but if you touch or rub your eyes it flakes off. Astral green is a gorgeous dark jewel green color with golden and green shimmers. It would flatter on all skin tones. I shall definitely recommend it to everyone.
