Blue has always been my favorite color. No matter what I choose everything blue be it dresses, handbags, watches, earrings, rings, eye shadows, nail paints etc. Yes you can call me a girl obsessed with blue! The only thing I missed is the blue eye liner (blue eyes too!) and finally I got my hands on NYX Long Pencil Eye in ‘Blue Lagoon’.

NYX Long Pencil Eye Liner is a thin, long and matte black lacquered wooden pencil with a built in sharpener on the lid. It comes with a colored end that helps in easy identification of the shade in case you hoard many. It enables an easy and comfortable grip unlike few jumbo pencils. The lid of the pencil is quite loose and makes it insecure to carry in handbags.

The texture of the pencil is very smooth and creamy. It is so creamy that sometimes I feel it might break if I apply too much pressure (although minimal pressure is needed to get a solid line!). It has smooth and velvety consistency that enables an effortless application on my upper lash lines. It glides smoothly along my lash line. It gives a neat, subtle line of color with a single swipe but can also be layered to get a dramatic look. It sets into a waterproof and smudge- proof finish after application and doesn't budge till removed. The staying power is awesome. The eyeliner remains perfect the whole day until I am ready to remove it with a remover. I find that the tapered tip wears down rather quickly and needs sharpening after using it 3-4 times. The eyeliner sharpens very well with no flaking of the pencil fibers.

‘Blue Lagoon’ is a beautiful aqua blue color with metallic finish. It contains silver shimmers which are barely visible. It is surprisingly vibrant on my arms but looks quite subtle and wearable on my eyes. It looks great with neutral eye shadows. It is really pigmented and gives true color in just two swipes. I cannot speak of my experience with smudging the eyeliner as generally I don’t favor this look.

Pros:

       ·       Soft and creamy texture.

       ·       Pigmentation is superb.

       ·       Water proof and smudge proof.

       ·       Long lasting color.

       ·       Doesn't irritate my eyes.

       ·       Looks great with neutral eye shadows.

Cons:

       ·       Needs regular sharpening.

       ·       The lid of the liner is a bit loose that makes it difficult to carry in makeup bags.

       ·       Not easily available.

Overall Thoughts:

NYX Long Pencil Eye has smooth and creamy formula that glides like a dream across my skin without bleeding or smudging. It has great pigmentation and gives true color in just two swipes. The staying power is awesome and the liner stays intact for the whole day till I remove it with a remover. Blue Lagoon is a pretty aqua blue color with a metallic finish to it. The only downside is the lid which is quite loose and cannot be carried around in a makeup bag. I shall definitely recommend it to everyone!
