Colorbar Soft Touch Lipstick ‘Rubby Woo 012’ Review, Swatches & LOTD

I have always been scared of red lipsticks. I was on a look out for a berry red shade that won’t make me look like an evil queen of Snow White. Okay I know I am not the daring type of girl and got Rubby Woo (Why Rubby instead of Ruby?) for me. It is a berry red shade that does a real favor to my fair skin tone without giving a vampy look. Today I am going to discuss my experience with Colorbar Soft Touch Lipstick in ‘Rubby Woo’.

Colorbar says-
Gives your lips a soft and smooth look with the Soft Touch Lipstick. Its rich creamy formula enhances the lips, while keeping them moisturized and nourished. With Vit A and E and apricot oil, the Soft Touch Lipstick has anti-aging properties that protect the lips from chapping and discoloration. With a unique fig fragrance, the Soft Touch Lipstick is available in classy shades.

MBT says-

Colorbar Soft Touch Lipstick comes in a sturdy, silver casing with 'Colorbar' printed on the lid. It has a sticker at the bottom that states shade name and number of the lipstick. The lid snaps shut with a satisfactory click and would not mess around in your makeup bag. There is no color representation on the outer part of packaging that makes it really difficult to identify the shade in case you hoard many from this range. The casing has chrome shiny finish and looks quite expensive. The scent of the lipstick is quite mild and pleasant and won’t bother people with sensitive noses.

The formula of the lipstick is soft and smooth. It is applied easily but you have to be careful while applying this shade as any smudge or mistake really shows up and makes you look awful. It can be applied using a lip brush or directly from the bullet. With a firm grip on lipstick it glides easily across my lips without bleeding, smudging or feathering. It is quite moisturizing though not overly so and I don’t feel the need to apply a lip balm underneath it. But if you have extremely dry lips, make sure you exfoliate your lips well and apply a good lip balm. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on my lips. My lips feel soft, smooth and moisturized. The pigmentation is superb and gives true deep color in a single coat. The lipstick provides full coverage and is a good bet for those who have heavy pigmented lips. The finish of the lipstick is smooth, even and glossy. The staying power is quite good. It stays put on my lips for a good 5-6 hours with eating and drinking. After that it starts fading leaving behind a beautiful tint. Unlike other moisturizing lipsticks, it doesn’t transfer easily on mugs, cups or glasses. The lipstick is easily removed with a lip remover without staining or drying out the lips.

Rubby Woo’ is a soft berry red shade with a smooth, glossy finish. It doesn’t contain shimmers or glitters. It gives true color with a single coat and instantly brightens up my face. As I am not a big fan of red shades, I tone it down a bit by applying NARS Spring Break lip gloss over it. Rubby Woo would look flattering with traditional Indian ethnic wear. I think it would look gorgeous on all skin tones.

  8. The lipstick color actually looks great on it. And love how glossy your lips look with it. Totally understand your fear of looking vampy with red.
