Elle 18 Eye Sparklers ‘Gun Powder’ Review, Swatches & EOTD

I have always loved NYX long eye pencil in Blue Lagoon (Read my review here) and wore it most of the times and even at the day of rehearsal of my convocation (Mind you I got gold medal *smiling arrogantly*). I find whenever I was talking to anyone (read mostly senior citizens), their eyes landed on my eyes. I found it quite weird and instantly searched for a black or grey liner on my cell phone. I saw Elle 18 Eye Sparklers in Gun Powder which was looking pretty decent with really an affordable price. So instead of ordering it online (I know it takes 3 days for any delivery to reach at my place and I had convocation the next day) I went to a local store nearby and got this liner for me. Today I am going to discuss my experience with Elle 18 Eye Sparklers in Gun Powder.

Elle 18 says-
Versatile eye crayons with goodness of almonds for smooth application.

MBT says-
Elle 18 Eye Sparklers comes in a short, chubby plastic pencil with a transparent lid. The packaging is quite girly and funky. The clear lid allows easy identification of the shade in case you hoard many from this range. The shade name is written at the end of the pencil. Despite being chubby, it enables an easy and comfortable grip. The lid of the pencil is quite tight making it travel friendly. It resembles a crayon pencil and it was tapered to a slightly rounded tip when brand new.

The texture of the eye liner is soft, smooth and creamy. It enables easy and effortless application on my upper lash line due to its smooth and velvety consistency. It creates a flawless and subtle line of color in just a single swipe. To get a more intense look, I need to swipe it 2-3 times. The liner doesn’t smudge on my slightly oily lids but if you have the habit of touching or rubbing your eyes then there are chances it may budge and fade. The staying power is pretty average. It lasts on my lids for only 3-4 hours without smudging or fading. It is not a water proof liner and can be removed easily with an eye makeup remover. It doesn’t cause any adverse effects to my eyes and thus would suit sensitive eyes as well. Due to its creamy texture, the pencil can be used as an eye shadow too but it creases on my eyes like hell. The tip of the pencil wears off quickly due to its soft texture. It is easy to sharpen the product but it loses its shape at its tip. It doesn’t give precise application when the pencil is not sharpened.

‘Gun Powder’ is a metallic grey color with a gorgeous sheen. It works well with both plain eye shadow and a glittery one. It instantly brightens up my eyes and makes me look awake. It looks beautiful on all eye colors and skin tones. It can be used for both day wear and night outs.

PROS:
     ·       Sturdy and travel friendly packaging.
     ·       Soft, smooth and creamy texture.
     ·       Easy to apply.
     ·       Glides across the upper lash line without tugging or pulling the skin.
     ·       Pigmentation is medium to build-able.
     ·       Reasonably priced.
     ·       Easily available.
     ·       Gun powder looks flattering on all eyes.
     ·       Can be used as an eye shadow for a smoky look.

CONS:
     ·       Staying power is pretty average.
     ·       Needs regular sharpening.
     ·       Creases on my lids when used as an eye shadow.

Overall Thoughts:
Elle 18 Eye Sparklers has soft, smooth and creamy texture that glides effortlessly across the upper lash line. It gives a subtle line of color in a single swipe but can be layered up to get a dramatic look. It lasts on lids for only 3-4 hours without smudging or fading. 'Gun Powder' is a metallic grey color with a beautiful sheen. It would look flattering on all skin tones. I shall definitely recommend it to everyone.

The funny part is that i don't own any of these yet... wanna get the blue, green and pink one.. this one seems interesting too.... these can't be used on waterline as I read in many reviews it stings... considering that the NYX jumbo pencils are so expensive these are good to play with... nice eye make up and review :)
