I have always been afraid of red lipsticks (Yes I am a red lipstick virgin!). I really wanted to try Go Chic lipsticks and chose 'Mulberry Slush' for me. The SA there insisted me to try this red lipstick and told me it would look great on me. I took the lipstick from her and read the shade name ‘Poppy Red’. I knew it would pop out on my lips making me look vampy. She kept persuading me and finally I bought it since it was not pure bright red (I would really like to try a vampy one!). Today I am going to share my experience with Faces Go Chic lipstick in 'Poppy Red' Rs 249.

Faces Go Chic lipstick comes in a black cardboard box packaging. The actual product comes in a slim, sturdy, glossy black tube with 'Faces' written across the silver ring. There is no color representation on the outer part of the packaging making it difficult to identify the shade in case you hoard many from this range. The shade name and number are written on the sticker which is stuck at the bottom of the tube. The lid of the tube snaps shut satisfactorily and would not mess around in your makeup bag. It rotates slightly but it doesn't bother me as it is quite tight. The scent of the lipstick is mild and pleasant and won’t bother sensitive noses.

The formula of the lipstick is very soft, smooth and creamy. It is applied easily but you have to be careful while applying this shade as any smudge or mistake really shows up and makes you look awful or dangerous. It can be applied using a lip brush or directly from the bullet. With a firm grip on lipstick it glides easily across my lips without bleeding, smudging or feathering but I always make sure to apply a lip liner for a more defined look. It is very moisturizing and I don’t feel the need to apply a lip balm underneath it. But if you have extremely dry lips, make sure you exfoliate your lips well and apply a good lip balm. It doesn't feel heavy or greasy on my lips. My lips feel soft, smooth and moisturized. The pigmentation is superb and gives true deep color in a single coat. You can always layer it up for a more dramatic effect. The lipstick provides full coverage and is a good bet for those who have heavy pigmented lips. The finish of the lipstick is smooth, even and glossy. The staying power is quite good. It stays put on my lips for a good 5-6 hours with eating and drinking. After that it starts fading leaving behind a beautiful tint. It transfers easily on mugs, cups or glasses. The lipstick is easily removed with a lip remover without staining or drying out the lips.

'Poppy Red' is a beautiful warm red color with orange undertones. It has a smooth, satin-y finish and doesn’t contain shimmers or glitters. It gives a decent color in a single coat but you can always layer it up for a glamorous effect.  It instantly brightens up my face and would look flattering on all skin tones. Since it is a bright shade I like wearing it in night parties or when I wear a red top or dress.

Overall Thoughts:

Faces Go Chic lipstick has got soft, smooth and creamy texture and glides across the lips effortlessly. It is very moisturizing and one need to have a firm grip on the tube to avoid bleeding or smudging. The pigmentation is superb and gives true color with a single swipe. It stays put on my lips for a good 5-6 hours with eating or drinking. Poppy Red is a pretty warm red color with orange undertones. It has a smooth and satin finish that instantly brightens up my face. I shall definitely it recommend to everyone who is scared of wearing red lipstick.
