Smashbox Double Exposure Lip and Cheek Color ‘Speedracer’ Review, Swatches & LOTD

How do you feel when you get cosmetics as gifts? I feel on cloud 9 and as I am a big makeup freak I would love to try all cosmetics in the world. I got it as a gift from my sweet friend but when on opening its lid, I was a bit skeptical if it would suit my fair skin tone. I am being told that it has been discontinued by the company (Wow I am holding something precious!) Today I am going to discuss my experience with Smashbox Double Exposure Lip and Cheek Color in ‘Speedracer’.

MBT says-
Smashbox lip and cheek color comes in a sturdy, matte black compact with a transparent screw top lid. The transparent lid enables an easy identification of the shade in case you hoard many from this range. The packaging is lightweight and compact and can be easily carried around in a makeup bag. There is no mirror or applicator provided with the compact so make sure to carry your own while travelling.

The texture of the lip and cheek color is very soft, smooth and creamy. I like using it on my cheeks. It applies easily onto my cheeks using ring finger and glides effortlessly. It blends easily without getting patchy. I always use my finger to apply it as a blush but you can always use a stippling brush. The lip and cheek color provides a nice and natural dewy look which I really like. It can also be used as a lip color but it doesn't show up well on my lips and makes them look dull. It looks brown in arm swatches but MLBB on my lips. If you have heavily pigmented lips then this product is definitely not for you. As I am not fond of matte lipsticks, I really don’t like using it on lips. The pigmentation of the lip and cheek color is sheer to medium. For a naturally blushed effect, I sweep my finger lightly over the lip and cheek color and dot it over my cheeks. I then blend it using fingers and finally using a fluffy blush brush. You can always build up the color to get the desired intensity. It feels incredibly light on my skin and gives dewy finish. As I have oily skin I make sure to dust powder over it to make it last long. It stays put on my cheeks for a good 4-5 hours after that it starts fading evenly. It is easy to remove using makeup wipes or remover. It doesn't cause any adverse effects to my oily and sensitive skin.

'Speedracer' is beautiful nude brown color with a matte finish. It gives dewy look to the cheeks without looking greasy. It imparts a natural and healthy glow to my skin.  It is suitable to wear at both day and night time. It looks natural and pretty on my fair skin tones but only if used sparingly else it looks muddy. It would look flattering on medium to dusky skin tones.

  2. It looks nice .. I never like lip n cheek products .. they dont have enough pigmentation for lips. I bet it would be better as a cheek stain :)
