I have never been a fan of long hair but when I need to wear a saree (like farewell, cousins marriage etc!) I make sure my hair is long enough to hide my back (I don’t like exposing my skin :P). This time I saw few split ends in my hair and was quite happy that dove launched this range at the right time. Today I am going to discuss my experience with Dove Split End Rescue Shampoo.

Dove Split End Rescue Shampoo comes in a pearly white, dome shaped, sturdy plastic bottle with the same colored flip open lid. The packaging is very appealing and soothing to the eyes. The lid is quite tight and the bottle can be carried around in a hand bag without any fear of leakage or spillage. The shampoo is pearly white in color with a delightful smell. I could see very fine shimmers in the shampoo but they are visible only when you look them closely.

The texture of the shampoo is soft and velvet like with a right consistency. It is neither very runny nor very thick. Instead of applying shampoo directly onto my hair, I always make sure to dilute it with water. The shampoo is easily applied to my medium hair length and creates a rich lather. If I have oil in my hair, I need two washes else it creates sufficient lather with a small amount of shampoo. The nice aroma does tend to intensify during the application. It gets washed off easily and effortlessly with warm water without leaving a greasy residue behind. It removes all oil, dirt and grime off my hair. After using this shampoo, my hair feels very soft, silky, smooth and manageable. It imparts a healthy shine to my hair. It helps in reducing frizz to a great extent. It doesn't dry out my scalp unlike other shampoos. As the ends of my hair are prone to dry, I make sure to follow it up with the conditioner from the same range to achieve maximum results. The aroma of the shampoo lingers with me for at least two days. 

Now coming to the split ends part! After using it 5-6 times, I could see the shampoo does help in sticking the split ends and makes them less visible (Actually a nice concept by Dove!). It does only the sticking part and once you stop using this shampoo, the split ends are again visible. So to get rid of split ends the only solution is to get your hair trimmed. Oh the best part is that it doesn't weigh down my hair.

Overall Thoughts:

Dove Split End Rescue Shampoo is pearly white in color with a good consistency. It creates a rich lather and cleanses my hair well without leaving a greasy residue behind. It makes my hair soft, silky and manageable. It helps in repairing the split ends by sticking them but that is on a temporary basis. It reduces frizz and imparts a nice shine to my hair. I shall definitely recommend it to everyone.
