Lip pencils come handy when you have a small bag or you don’t want to carry much in your bag. It can be used as liner, filler and can be used with lipstick or gloss. Faces do have really pretty shades in lip pencils and I bought ‘Coral Red’ for me. Today I am going to discuss my experience with Faces Lip Pencil in Coral Red.

Faces Lip Pencil is a thin and matte black lacquered wooden pencil with an opaque black pull off lid. It comes with a colored end that enables easy identification of the shade in case you hoard many from this range. It allows easy and comfortable grip whilst application and gives proper control while applying it as lip liner. The lid of the pencil is quite tight and won’t create a mess in your bag.

The texture of the pencil is soft and smooth. It applies and glides across the lip smoothly without tugging the skin. It is really easy to outline the lips and corners when the pencil has been sharpened. It is easy to fill in the lips without bleeding, smudging or feathering. Before applying the pencil, make sure to exfoliate your lips well. The pigmentation is superb. It gives true color in one layer and gives smooth, even and matte finish. I always make sure to apply a good lip balm before applying the pencil as it has the tendency to emphasize the dryness due to its matte finish. The lip pencil can be used as a lip liner, base for the lipstick or on its own. The staying power is pretty average when the lip pencil is used on its own. It stays put for only 3-4 hours on my lips and after that it starts fading evenly leaving a tint behind. To prolong its longevity, I apply a gloss over it as I usually do not prefer matte finish. When used under lipstick, it increases the staying power of the lipstick and lasts for a good 6-7 hours with eating and drinking. I find that the tapered tip wears down rather quickly and needs sharpening after using it 3-4 times. The eyeliner sharpens very well with no flaking of the pencil fibers. It does transfer to cups or glasses.

'Coral Red' is a scarlet color with more orange undertones. It does not contain any glitter or shimmers. The pigmentation is superb and gives true color in one layer. Coral red looks bright and chic on my lips without being OTT. It instantly brightens up my face. I love applying it on its own or under a coral or red lipstick. It would look flattering on all skin tones.

Overall Thoughts:

Faces Lip Pencil has got soft and smooth texture that glides evenly across my lips. The pigmentation of the pencil is superb and gives good color pay off with just one layer. It increases the longevity of the lipsticks, can be used on its own or as a liner. It stays for only 3-4 hours when applied on its own but lasts long when used under a lipstick. Coral red is a coral-ish red color with a matte finish. It would look great on all skin tones. I shall definitely recommend it to everyone except beauties with extremely dry lips.
