The Body Shop Metallic Eye Definer ’13 Burnished Amber’ Review, Swatches & EOTD

If you are a newbie in makeup or are not perfect in applying an eye liner then I suggest you to try creamy eye liners. I learnt applying liners using creamy eye pencils and believe me you would learn it well in just 5 days. I prefer eye liner pencils over liquid liners as in my opinion they are easy to apply and doesn’t create any mess. Today I am going to discuss my experience with The Body Shop Metallic Eye Definer in 'Burnished Amber'.

MBT says-
The Body Shop Metallic Eye Definer is a thin, light weight, copper lacquered wooden pencil with a chrome finish silver pull off lid. The lid of the pencil is quite tight and can be securely carried around in a makeup bag. The color of the pencil is same as that of shade and enables easy identification of shade in case you hoard many from this range. The liner was tapered to a neatly sharpened tip when brand new. It is quite light weight and enables a comfortable hold on pencil during application. The shade name and number are written at the end of the pencil.

The texture of the pencil is very soft, smooth and creamy. It glides smoothly across the lids without tugging the skin. It gives a nice and precise line with minimal effort. The consistency is so soft and velvety that sometimes I feel it might break if I apply too much pressure or accidentally drop it down.  The color payoff is average. I need to swipe the pencil 2-3 times to get true color on my lids. It stays put on my slightly oily lids for a good 3-4 hours without smudging but with a good primer it stays on for a long time. The liner is easy to remove with a good makeup remover. It doesn't cause any adverse effects to my eyes. It is easy to sharpen the pencil without any flakes of the pencil fibers.

'Burnished Amber' is a gorgeous coppery bronze color with a frosty finish. It is a subtle shade so if you are fond of bright shades then this shade is not for you. I love soft looks and it gives perfect results to me. The shade is great for both day and night wear. It would look flattering on all skin tones and eye color. I cannot speak of my experience with smudging the eyeliner as usually I don’t favor this look.

PROS:
• Travel friendly packaging.
• Soft, smooth and creamy texture.
• Glides easily across the lids without tugging or pulling the skin.
• Allows precise application.
• Medium to build-able pigmentation.
• Easily available.
• Average staying power.
• Burnished Amber would look great on all eye colors.
• Easy to remove.
• Opthalmologically approved.

CONS:
 A bit expensive.
 Needs regular sharpening.

Overall Thoughts:
I love the texture of The Body Shop Metallic Eye Definer. It glides easily on my lids without tugging or pulling off the skin. It has got medium to build-able pigmentation and Burnished Amber looks beautiful on eyes. It is a subtle coppery bronze color with frosty finish. Since the texture is quite creamy, it stays put for only 3-4 hours but it can be handled with a good primer. If you are fond of subtle and soft looks, I would definitely recommend it to you.
