I have always been fond of Lotus Herbals as their products are reasonably priced yet so effective. I got really thrilled when I saw the elegant and gorgeous packaging of the lipstick from the Pure Stay range. Today I am going to discuss my experience with Lotus Herbals Pure Stay Lip Color.

Lotus Herbals Pure Stay Long Lasting Lip Color comes in a pink satin cloth which in turn is enclosed in a cardboard box packaging. The actual product comes in a beautiful, sturdy pink casing with ‘Lotus Herbals’ written on the lid. The lid snaps shut easily and would not mess around in your makeup bag. The casing has a gorgeous chrome finish that makes it look elegant and expensive lipstick. The shade name and number are mentioned at the bottom of the lipstick. There is no color representation on the outer packaging that makes it really difficult to identify the shade in case you hoard many from this range.
The formula of the lipstick is a bit dry yet smooth. Applying the lipstick is effortless and it glides easily across my lips without smudging, bleeding or feathering. Although it has flat slightly slanted bullet, I prefer applying it on its own rather than using a lip filler and it applies really well. The lipstick does not feel waxy or greasy on my lips. Due to its dry formula, I do feel the need to apply a lip balm underneath it. If you have extremely dry lips, make sure to exfoliate your lips well before application as the lipstick has the tendency to highlight dry spots on lips. My lips feel soft and comfortable. The lipstick provides semi glossy finish and looks beautiful on lips but after few hours it turns into a matte finish. The pigmentation is superb and gives a true color in just a single swipe. If you have pigmented lips, then it is a great bet for you as it provides full coverage. The staying power is awesome too. It stays put on my lips for a good 7-8 hours with eating or drinking. After that it starts fading slightly leaving a strong tint behind. It doesn't transfer easily on cups or mugs and can be easily removed using a good lip makeup remover. The lipstick has a tendency to settle into fine lines of the lips after few hours which is a major drawback for me.
'Rose Mary' is a gorgeous reddish rose color with a semi glossy finish. After few hours, the lipstick turns into a matte finish. Although it looks quite bright on the arm swatch but it can be worn at any time of the day without being OTT. The shade instantly brightens up my face and would look flattering on all skin tones.

Overall Thoughts:
Lotus Herbals Pure Stay Long Lasting Lip Color in Rose Mary is a beautiful reddish pink color with a semi glossy finish. It turns into a matte finish after few hours. Although the lipstick has dry texture, it glides easily on my lips (I do apply a lip balm!). The pigmentation and staying power is superb and is perfect for office going girls. The lipstick settles into fines lines of the lips after few hours and that’s my only grumble about the lipstick. I would definitely recommend this shade to everyone minus the formula.
