When I saw this super cute makeup sponge on Born pretty Store, I was really impressed. Born Pretty Store Pro Bottle Gourd Sponge comes in a thin re-sealable plastic packaging that ensures hygiene and safety of the product from being damaged. It is quite lightweight and can be securely carried around in a makeup bag. It is bright pink in color and has slightly weird but cute shape. I feel the sponge is a perfect and cheap dupe of Beauty Blender Sponge.

The sponge is slightly egg or bottle gourd shaped that bends in the middle to make it easier to hold while application. It is round and wider at one end and narrow and pointed at the other. It is very soft, smooth and squishy. I love holding it in my hands!

Before using the sponge for foundation application, wet the sponge under running cold water for a minute, squeeze it between the palms of my hand and then on towel. The sponge expands and becomes fluffier. Make sure it is damp not wet.

Application of foundation becomes super easy with this sponge. I simply dot the foundation all over my face and dab the wider end of the sponge onto my skin. I make sure not to swipe the sponge but I do it on my eye lids and jaw line for quick application. The narrow end of the sponge is used to blend the concealer or foundation around the nose, under the eyes or on pimples. I sometimes use sides of the sponge for blending. It takes hardly few minutes to cover and blend the foundation all over my face and neck. My skin looks soft, smooth and flawlessly even. It gives build-able coverage. I feel the coverage depends on the foundation you use. Whenever I want more coverage, I take foundation on the back of my hand, tap the sponge on it and dab it onto the skin gently. If you want full coverage, I would suggest you to first apply foundation using fingers or brush and at the end use this sponge to eliminate any cakeyness.

The sponge gives medium to build-able coverage, smooth even finish with no lines or streaks. The material of the sponge is incredibly soft and does not irritate my skin. It actually feels nice on the skin. I spend less time in doing my makeup (Sounds nice!). The sponge is meant to be used with liquid foundation, cream blushers and bronzers.

Cleaning the sponge is really simple. I just pump or pour small amount of makeup remover or baby shampoo on each ends of the sponge, let it soak for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. Although the sponge gets stained, but it gets completely cleaned. It feels soft even after washing.
