Compact powder or loose powder is a must have for me in summers for my oily skin. I have really very oily T-zone and I never forget to keep wipes and compact powder in my bag. Elle 18 Glow Foundation (Read my review HERE) has become my favorite in summers as it is so light and makes my skin look natural and healthy. Today I am going to review Elle 18 Glow Compact which is a part of their newly launched range.

Whether it’s a party you are excited to go to or the college fest you want to be part of, the Glow Compact gives you that extra ‘oomph’ to dazzle everyone with your radiance.

Elle 18 Glow Compact comes packed in a glossy black cardboard box packaging. The actual product comes in a sleek, black plastic compact with a black flip top lid. The lid firmly closes when not in use and can be easily carried around in a makeup bag. The shade name, price and date are written at the base of the compact. As soon as you open the lid, you will find a small round mirror attached to the lid. Although the mirror is quite small but it comes handy while traveling. A soft applicator sponge is included in the compact that is soft and easy to hold. There is also a small thin plastic protective cover for the compact powder. The packaging is really pretty and looks girlie.

The texture of the compact powder is very soft, silky and smooth. Instead of using the sponge applicator, I use Born Pretty Store Powder Brush (Read review HERE) to apply compact all over my face. I do like the sponge applicator provided with the compact. It does not pick up heaps of powder and feels really soft on the skin. The scent of the powder is a bit strong though pleasant but fades away as soon as the powder is applied on the face. I am actually not fond of using fragranced makeup on my face.

The compact comes in four shades- Pearl, Marble, Coral and Shell. The shade Pearl is perfect for my fair skin tone and does not tend to make me look like a ghost or give whitish cast. I use this compact powder after applying foundation and it sets it really well. It applies smoothly and feels light on the skin. It blends across my skin perfectly without giving me a patchy or cake-y look. It provides light to medium coverage. It lightens up my blemishes but it cannot be used as an alternative to concealer. It makes my skin look natural, even and healthy. It does not tend to give matte look but offers a lovely silky finish to my skin. As my T zone is very oily especially in this very hot weather, it makes it oily after 2-3 hours and I do feel the need of reapplication. I had used it in winters too when my skin gets really dry. It made my skin smooth, even and radiant so I feel it works best on normal to dry skin but I love using it on my oily skin as it is really light and does not clog pores. The compact powder can be easily removed from the skin using a good makeup remover.

PROS:

• Soft and smooth texture.

• My T-zone feels oily after few hours which is something I expected as it is really hot here.

• The scent is a bit strong for my liking.

Overall Thoughts:

Elle 18 Glow Compact is a budget friendly compact powder that delivers good results. It makes my skin soft, smooth and silky. It applies evenly and gives a lovely, healthy look to the skin. Though it does not control oil for a long time but it does not clog pores either which is really great for acne prone skin. I would happily recommend it to everyone especially to beauties with normal to dry skin! It is good for daily use.
