There are few places where bright lipsticks really do not work. Recently I went to pick up my nephew from his school with a bright coral lipstick on. When I got gazes from parents, teachers and kids, I was feeling like celebrity clown so I dropped my bright lipsticks for parties and shopping and Living Nature lipstick came at the right time when I was searching for a perfect neutral shade. Today I am going to review Living Nature Lipstick in Sandstone.

Living Nature Lipstick comes packed in a black cardboard box packaging that is recyclable. The actual product comes in a retractable soft, rubber-y black packaging with the same colored pull off lid. The packaging is really very soft and looks classy. The tube is incredibly light and looks luxurious on my vanity table and of course in my bag. It is functional and easy to use. The lid is quite tight and clicks conveniently when placing back on the lipstick. It is safe to carry the lipstick in the bag. I totally loved the logo of the brand at the top of the lid that makes the packaging all the more pretty and elegant. There is a sticker at the base of the lipstick that depicts the shade name and represents the color of the shade so it would be easy for you to identify the shade in case you are in hurry.

As soon as you open the lid, you will be greeted with a dome shaped bullet. The design of the lipstick is very unique and allows you to apply it even at the corners of the lips without any bleeding. I tried sniffing it but the scent is hardly detectable that is an added bonus for me. I am the kind of person who dislikes fragrance in skincare and lip products. The packaging of the lipstick is same as that of Living Nature Lip Hydrator (Read my review HERE).

The texture of the lipstick is very soft and smooth. The lipstick can be applied either using a lip brush or directly from the bullet. As it is sheer shade, I prefer applying it on its own. It applies easily and glides effortlessly on my lips. It doesn't get patchy or gloopy upon application. It does not feel waxy or sticky on my lips. Although it is quite moisturizing, I do feel the need to apply a lip balm underneath (I use Living Nature Lip Hydrator! It’s awesome!) else it settles down in fine lines of the lips. If you have extremely dry lips, make sure to exfoliate your lips and apply a good lip balm underneath it.  It doesn't feel heavy or greasy on my lips. It glides evenly across lips without bleeding, feathering or smudging. My lips feel soft, hydrated and nourished. The lipstick gives smooth, even and slightly glossy finish to my lips which I really like a lot. It doesn't accentuate the fine lines of the lips. The pigmentation of the lipstick is sheer to medium so you don’t need to be precise as you do for darker lipsticks. I need to swipe it 3-4 times to get noticeable color on my lips. If you have heavy pigmented lips then this product might not work for you. The longevity of the lipstick is quite low. Since it is a sheer color, it starts wearing off after 1-2 hours and vanishes away completely with eating and drinking. I need to reapply it after every few hours so I need to take it with me in my bag. When I apply it and blot, reapply it and blot I find it stays for few more hours with Living Nature Lip Hydrator underneath it. Even when the color has worn off, my lips do not feel dry or uncomfortable. 

Sandstone is a soft neutral brown shade with slightly glossy finish. It can be worn at any time (and any day!) of the year. I also love sporting it with smokey eye looks. It is a perfect neutral shade and would suit most skin tones. I have found my perfect neutral shade and it suits on my fair skin tone to the core.

Overall Thoughts:

Overall Living Nature Lipstick in Sandstone is my favorite neutral lipstick and I am using it almost every day. It feels light and moisturizing on my lips though I need to make sure to apply Lip Hydrator underneath. It has sheer to medium pigmentation with even coverage. As it is a sheer and neutral color, I really do not mind its staying power. It contains natural ingredients and I am glad I am not loaded with chemical laden products. I would definitely recommend this organic and natural lipstick to everyone and if you are on the lookout for a neutral shade then you must check Sandstone!
