Toner is an essential part of my skin care regime. It not only shrinks your pores but cleanses remaining dirt and grime off the skin. Himalaya has always been my favorite brand and I was glad to find that their toner is alcohol free. Today I am going to review Himalaya Herbals Refreshing & Clarifying Toner.

Himalaya Herbals Refreshing & Clarifying Toner comes in a semi opaque plastic bottle with a green flip top lid. Though the lid is quite tight but I feel it might leak in my bag due to the shape of lid so I avoid carrying it with me while traveling. 

The toner is clear though it looks sea green in bottle and has water-y consistency. It has a predominant citrus-y scent which is refreshing. It has to be used after cleansing your face. I use my favorite Himalaya Neem Face Wash. I simply dispense toner onto the cotton ball once and sweep it across my whole face and neck. The scent is obvious only when you apply in onto your skin after that it starts fading away. It feels refreshing on my skin and removes all dirt and impurities off the skin making it a highly effective product. It gets absorbed quickly and does not leave a greasy or sticky residue behind. I have read many people complaining about the sticky residue but make sure you take only a small amount of toner to avoid getting a layer.. As it is an alcohol free toner, it does not give any tingling or burning sensations to my skin which I really like. It makes my skin fresh, smooth, toned and healthy. It does not tighten or dry out my skin and feels light. I do not suffer from large pores but I could feel my skin looks smoother and healthier after using this toner. Although it acts as an astringent and contains lemon but it does not control sebum and my T-zone gets oily after few hours. I think it is meant to prevent acne and pimples which I haven’t faced since the time I am using this toner. I always make sure to moisturize my face after toning even though I have oily skin. If you have very oily skin then you might skip the moisturizer. I have not faced any adverse effects whilst using it.

Overall Thoughts:

Himalaya Herbals Refreshing & Clarifying Toner is a gentle and alcohol free toner that makes my skin smooth, even and toned. It does not give any tingling or burning sensation and can be used on all skin types. Make sure to use it sparingly to avoid any sticky layer. I would definitely recommend it to everyone except very oily skin!
