Emerald green eyeliner has always been my favorite. It makes any boring outfit or a simple makeup look elegant and classy. I already have Maybelline Vivid & Smooth eyeliner pencil in Forest Green (reviewed here) and I absolutely loved it. Recently Maybelline launched three new variants of Maybelline The Colossal Kohl. Today I am going to review Maybelline The Colossal Kohl in Crushed Emerald* which is priced at Rs 249.

Maybelline The Colossal Kohl comes in a bright yellow retractable eye liner pencil with the same color pull off lid. I find retractable eye liner pencils quite handy as you do not need sharpen it. The writing on the pencil is written in the same color as that of the pencil so it is easy to identify the shade in case you hoard many from this range. You simply need to twist the tube gently to reveal the eye liner. The lid of the liner snaps shut satisfactorily and would not create a mess in the bag while traveling.

It is a retractable pencil!

Crushed Emerald is a dark emerald green color with metallic finish. The liner looks fantastic with both soft and smoky looks. It instantly brightens up my eyes and looks quite subtle and wearable. It looks great with neutral eye shadows. It can be smudged easily to get soft smokey look. As I wear less makeup in this hot weather, I prefer applying kohl on just the outer corners of my eyes. It looks really pretty in person and makes me look awake and alive. It is creamy and glides smoothly and effortlessly across the lids. It gives a neat, subtle liner of color with just two swipes but can also be layered on to get a dramatic effect. It allows me to define my eyes effortlessly and apply a flick to the outer corners. It sets into a waterproof and smudge-proof finish after application and doesn't budge or smudge till removed. It can be used on upper lash line, lower lash line and waterline. It does not tend to irritate my eyes.

The staying power is pretty awesome. The eyeliner stays perfect on my waterline for a good 4-5 hours after that it starts fading and on the upper lash line it stays the whole day until I am ready to remove it. It doesn't cause any adverse effects on my skin. The liner can be easily removed using olive oil or an eye makeup remover.

Overall Thoughts: 

Maybelline The Colossal Kohl in Crushed Emerald is a gorgeous dark emerald green color that looks stunning on all eye colors. It applies easily and gives true color in two swipes. It does not feel harsh and looks wearable on waterline. It stays for the longest time on my upper lashes which I totally adore. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to everyone!
