Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Black Review & Swatches

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in Black
Kajal is every Indian girl’s best friend (only if you have droopy eyes!). Few months back, I had reviewed Lakme Kajal which has rich pigmentation but it smudges within few hours. Kajal is a “must have” for me and after using Maybelline Colossal Kajal for nearly 3 years I thought of switching to the famous Lakme Eyeconic Kajal. It comes in various colors- grey, blue, green, white, brown and black. I opted for black as I find this color pretty comfortable on my waterline. It is priced at 210 INR and you can buy online HERE at discounted price!

Swatch of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal comes securely packed in blister packaging with all the information written at the back. The best thing I liked about this kajal is the retractable pencil. I apply kajal only on waterline and I find it convenient even if there is no sharpening mechanism. The lid of the pencil is securely fitted and you can easily carry it in your handbag.

The texture of the kajal is soft and smooth. It glides smoothly over waterline without hurting the delicate skin. The pigmentation is rich and gives dark, intense color in 2-3 swipes. I chose the “black” color and it is definitely true black though I feel Lakme Kajal has richer pigmentation. It stays for the longest time without smudging. I wore it on my honeymoon and believe me I did not do touch ups and still there was kajal in my eyes at the end of the day. It does accumulate in the inner corner of the eyes which happens with almost all pigmented kajal.

As I told you, I carried it with me on my honeymoon trip to Andaman so that definitely means diving and enjoying in water. I was a bit disappointed when I noticed my raccoon eyes after water activities. I did not find it waterproof though I feel it will happen with all kajals if you are submerged in water *laughs*.

The kajal is easy to remove. I use Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean Makeup Remover (review coming soon!) which has become my favorite since last few months.

PROS:
•    Soft and smooth formula.
•    Applies easily.
•    Great pigmentation.
•    Good staying power.
•    Makes your eyes look dark and intense.
•    Comes in various colors.
•    Reasonably priced.
•    Retractable packaging.
•    Easy to remove.

CONS:
•    No ingredient list.
•    Not waterproof.

Overall Thoughts:
I love Lakme Eyeconic Kajal as “daily use” kajal. It has smooth formula and rich pigmentation. It stays on my eyes for the whole day without smudging but after testing it in water it smudges and gave me raccoon eyes (okay we won’t stay in water always!). If you are looking for budget friendly yet long wearing kajal then I would happily recommend it to you.

My Tips:
•    Apply loose powder under eyes to prevent smudging.
•    I love applying kajal till the inner corners for that glam look.
•    You can also use it as eyeliner.

Rating: 4.5/5

What is your favorite shade of Lakme Eyeconic Kajal? Do you have your HG kajal?

Stay pretty!
