Monsoon Skincare Regimen for Oily Skin ft. Biotique

As soon as the monsoon arrives, you are faced with mud, pot holes and humidity! I literally can't bear humidity and fortunately there is not much humidity in Hyderabad than in my hometown!  Today I am going to show how I take care of my skin using just a few products! Always remember to follow cleansing, toning, moisturizing and protection during this season! If you have oily to combination skin or normal skin then read till the end!

During monsoon, our skin is loaded with sweat and dirt that clogs pores! Clogging pores result in blackheads, pimples and acne! I have been following this skin care regimen for at least a month and my skin never felt this happy!

- Cleansing

I have been using Biotique Bio Pineapple Oil Control Foaming Face Cleanser Rs 149 (BUY ONLINE) for a long time and have not faced any breakouts or other skin irritations! It is a soap free cleansing gel that is blended with pineapple, neem leaves and clove oil that purifies the skin and makes it clean and bright!

This face cleanser foams really nice and a small amount is enough each time! It cleanses my skin really well though I make sure to remove my makeup with a separate makeup remover! It helps in drying out the pimples and prevents them from reoccurring! It removes all dirt, oil and grime off the skin.

I loved the pineapple fragrance of this face wash! It makes me feel refreshed! It is completely safe for acne-prone skin and I would definitely recommend it to people with normal to oily skin! Make sure you moisturize your skin as it dries out the skin a bit!

- Toning

After cleansing the skin, I always use the toner to tighten the pore and make the skin tissues soft! I am absolutely loving Biotique Bio Cucumber Pore Tightening Toner Rs 175 (BUY ONLINE). It is blended with cucumber, coriander, nutgalls, berberry, peppermint oil and Himalayan waters. Though it says it is organically pure but I really doubt as it smells of alcohol! 

I simply pour a small amount of toner onto a cotton pad and swipe it gently across my skin! It really feels good and makes pore tight! It is perfect for people with oily and acne-prone skin! And yes, it is completely safe for acne-prone skin! 

- Protection or Moisturizing

The harmful rays of the sun can harm your skin in any season so it is necessary to apply the sunscreen whenever you step out of your home! Biotique Bio Aloe Vera 30+SPF UVA/ UVB Sunscreen Ultra Soothing Face Lotion Rs 290 (BUY ONLINE). It is blended with pure aloe vera, sunflower and safflower oils to keep skin soft and moisturized. It protects the skin from harmful rays of the sun! 

This sunscreen contains beeswax which is a comedogenic ingredient and not safe for acne-prone skin so I passed it on to my cousin who has normal skin type! It moisturizes her skin well and does not feel heavy or greasy! It does not give a whitish cast to the skin unlike other sunscreens in the market! It does not clog pores or causes pimples! She said the fragrance is a bit sweet for her liking but it is not overpowering! You do not need a separate moisturizer with this sunscreen.

It is essential to apply face mask once or twice a week to keep skin clean, healthy and young! It is blended with extracts of peach, cabbage, neem and quince seed to deep cleanse skin and purify pores!

After cleansing your skin, apply a thin layer of the mask all over your face. The scent is very strong and it literally disappointed me. I do not like strong scents in my makeup or skincare products! After applying the face pack, it gives a tingling sensation to the skin that literally scared the hell out of me as I have sensitive skin! I kept it for 15 minutes and peeled it off! Fortunately, it did not give me rashes and my skin felt bright and fresh! It is safe for acne prone and oily skin. I think it will suit normal and combination skin as well! As I am not fond of its scent, I would be using it only twice or thrice a month just to retain the freshness of my skin!
