I have tried lots of facial oils in my blogging journey and I loved how effective they are to the skin. This is the first time i have heard and tried walnut oil. All i tried and knew was walnut scrubs that we all have used at least once in our lifetime. I was skeptical at first to try it out as it smells really weird like walnut but I really wanted to try it as I was super happy with Clay Wild Rose Hydrating Mist which is one of the best rose water or hydrating mists I have ever tried! It wonderfully brought a huge change to my dry skin. Today I am going to review Clay Himalayan Walnut Oil* that I have been using for the last 2-3 months.
Price- Rs 1150 for 100ml
Before we jump on the review let's understand what is walnut oil and how it is useful for our skin and hair. Walnut oil is unsung hero of the beauty industry. Walnut oil is extracted from the meats of walnuts and has soothing and anti microbial properties which is great for all skin types. My skin literally feels soft and smooth to touch. Walnut oil is rich in vitamins and omega fatty acids thus helps in repairing skin barriers. My skin was super dry when I moved to Bangalore last months but all thanks to Clay Himalayan Walnut Oil! My skin got back its suppleness and elasticity!
Clay Himalayan Walnut Oil comes in a dull bronze cardboard box packaging with all the information written over it. The actual product comes in a dark brown glass bottle with a pump nozzle. The nozzle itself is covered with an inner cap. The overall packaging gives a luxury feel. As soon as you open the bottle, you are greeted with a little weird walnut oil but I am happy that the brand has not infused it with some artificial fragrance. Though the packaging looks travel friendly but I am still not comfortable in carrying a glass bottle with an oil in my bag.
The oil is bright yellow in color with slightly thick consistency. Despite being slightly thick, it spreads easily over the skin. It takes few minutes for it to get absorbed in the skin. I love using my gua sha with it and the glow i get the next day is amazing. When i was facing the skin barrier issue, I felt my skin was feeling dry despite applying loads of walnut oil. With proper diet and skincare, my skin came back to its healthy version and i am absolutely loving my Clay Himalayan Walnut Oil.
It's been 2 months since i am using Clay Himalayan Walnut Oil and my skin has become clear, soft, hydrated and supple. Though walnut oil is not recommended for acne prone skin but it did not break out my skin so a big thumbs up from me who has dry, acne prone skin.
My skin looks healthy and youthful. Walnut oil can also be used on hair but i have not used it so cannot share my experience with it.
